Grade 1 stakes winner Sunset Glow was named as a finalist for the 2014 Eclipse Award as champion juvenile filly following an impressive campaign highlighted by consecutive wins in the Sorrento Stakes (G2) and Del Mar Debutante (G1), both at Del Mar. Two weeks after breaking her maiden at Belmont, Sunset Glow ran impressively to finish second in a field of 21 in the Albany Stakes (G3) at Royal Ascot. She displayed her versatility and exceptional talent in her next two starts, an easy front-running victory in the Sorrento followed by a hard-fought, come-from-behind win in the Del Mar Debutante. Those wins stamped Sunset Glow as the best juvenile filly on the West Coast and prompted jockey Victor Espinoza to remark, “This filly, she has a big heart.” A strapping daughter of Exchange Rate, Sunset Glow finished first, second or third in nine of her 10 career starts, racing in top stakes company on the turf and all weather courses at seven different race tracks. She was sold as both a weanling and yearling at Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock and September Yearling Sale, respectively.

A well-traveled runner, Sunset Glow finished on the board in nine of her 10 career starts at seven different race tracks in the U.S. and England. Sunset Glow dominated rivals in the Sorrento Stakes (G2) at Del Mar, leading at every call to win by 3¼ lengths. Three weeks later in the Del Mar Debutante (G1), Sunset Glow displayed her versatility, coming from off the pace to bull her way through horses at the top of the stretch and hold off the late challenges of rivals to win by a neck. Sunset Glow distinguished herself by becoming only the fifth filly since 1995 to complete the Sorrento/Del Mar Debutante double at Del Mar, placing her in company with champion Chilukki and the exceptional fillies Batroyale, Mi Sueno and Executiveprivilege.
