Nereid

HIP NO.39 | CONSIGNED BY Lane's End, Agent

Nereid has made her presence felt on track, in the sales ring and as a producer.

As a racehorse, she led throughout the American Oaks (G1) at Hollywood Park and held on gamely to score a dead-heat victory defeating graded stakes winner Bizzy Caroline and future Grade 1 winner Love Theway You are.

A few months after closing her career as runner-up to graded stakes-winning millionaire Marketing Mix in the Rodeo Drive (G1) at Santa Anita, Nereid commanded $1.3 million Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. Her commercial appeal continued with her Speightstown colt who attracted a final bid of $825,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Nereid has produced foals for five consecutive years. Her first three foals – all winners – are led by stakes winner and graded stakes-placed Figarella’s Queen, by Medaglia d’Oro.

A half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Sea Queen, Nereid is by Rock Hard Ten, a Grade 1-winning son of influential broodmare sire Kris S. Nereid is offered in foal to Quality Road, whose offspring averaged $333,808 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
