Hip # 192 | Consigned by Lane's End, Agent
Grade 1 winner Ball Dancing will be offered in foal to sensational leading stallion Quality Road, whose offspring are revered for their commercial appeal and on-track success. At the recent Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Quality Road was represented by a $1 million seller among his 33 offerings that averaged $339,939. His growing roster of stakes winners includes champions Abel Tasman and Caledonia Road and current stars Dunbar Road and Bellafina.
Ball Dancing was at her best when it mattered the most before a near-record Keeneland crowd in the Jenny Wiley (G1) on turf. Eager for the lead, she responded to her jockey’s urging to conserve her strength by following the front-runners. At the top of the stretch, Ball Dancing unleashed her reserved energy and cruised clear for the victory against a star-studded field. Her conquered rivals included a Grade 1-winning millionaire among the field of all stakes winners.
Ball Dancing first flashed her talent in France, where she won on the all-weather surface and on grass at Chantilly and Longchamp before returning to her native country. She immediately showed her affinity for her homeland by capturing the Sands Point (G2) at Belmont Park.
One of 10 winners from her dam, Ball Dancing is a half-sister to a listed stakes winner and a group-placed winner. Her second dam, a Grade 2-winning daughter of the illustrious Nijinsky II, is a stakes producer. As a broodmare, Ball Dancing already is represented by a yearling colt by Medaglia d’Oro.
